In these ever changing times, your voice is more vital than ever to the interests of managers and non-represented employees, as well as to our schools and students. That’s why it is important to join ALBEM, the Association of Long Beach Educational Managers & Confidential Employees.
Your dues give you a say in school district decisions that affect your life and your career. Five times a year, ALBEM leaders meet with our Superintendent to convey concerns, ideas, and suggestions of ALBEM members. Our goal is to hold at least one general membership meeting per year to give you a chance to voice your opinions and vote on issues and directions of our association. Hundreds of employees belong to ALBEM, a well-established face-to-face communications link between its members and the district’s leading decision makers.
Through your ALBEM membership, you also get the satisfaction of making a difference. Each year, ALBEM membership dues pay for thousands of dollars in scholarships for deserving students in our schools. And you’ll be connecting with colleagues and friends. In addition to the general meeting, ALBEM coordinates an End of the Year Celebration where scholarship recipients are announced and supervising and confidential secretaries are recognized. The ALBEM website (www.albem.org) will keep you informed about important issues and events that affect you. In the uncertain times ahead, ALBEM could be your best ally.
